Entry Detail

John Walsh expertly designs the route with a mix of
regularity and non-timed sections, allowing time for coffee
and lunch. Rallying will begin after breakfast and conclude by lunchtime or mid afternoon, so there will be ample opportunity to enjoy the stylish hotels and relax.

Navigation is by Tulip Diagrams, and Regularity Sections are timed to the second. Class Regularity Speeds will be set at a level that is attainable, and where conditions require, slower speeds will be used. Untimed Passage Sections will allow a chance for you to admire rural France and discover quaint villages dotted along the route. French Revolution is about enjoying yourself at the wheel, what France has to offer, and congenial company.

There are two categories of competition on this yearís rally, subject to the level at which you wish to compete. The Competitor Category is open to experienced rally crews who wish to enjoy the challenge that French Revolution usually offers. The Bon Viveur Category is designed for crews who would like an easier rally day, with additional navigational information than the Competitor Category, whilst still enjoying the all the fun and socialising associated with this event.

Cars must be of a type first manufactured before 31st December 1985.
Competitors will be divided into the following classes:

Competitor
Class 1 Historic Pre 1953
Class 2 Classics 1953 to 1973 under 2 litres
Class 3 Classics 1953 to 1973 over 2 litres
Class 4 Post Classics 1974 to pre 1986

Bon Viveur
Class 5 All cars Pre 1986

The winner of each Class will be awarded a First Class Prize, but only entrants in the Competitor Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4 qualify for the Overall Awards.

There is no need for special equipment to compete; all that you need is an odometer that works, a stopwatch and some speed tables. However, if you wish, you may fit an extra trip.
